Alecia grew up in a suburb of St. Paul, MN and currently resides in Wilton, IA. Alecia received her undergraduate degree from Grand View University in Des Moines, IA with a biology major and a chemistry and psychology minor. Alecia also played soccer for Grand View for all 4 of her undergraduate years. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Des Moines University. Outside of work, she enjoys to spend time her her husband (Ryan) and two kids (Forrest and Kodi), going hiking, boating on the lakes and Mississippi, kayaking, bicycling, and exploring new breweries across the state.
Why did you become a Therapist?
I grew up surrounded by kids with my mom running a daycare, so I was accustom to taking care of kids that I knew I wanted to be in a caring role. I grew up playing soccer and eventually went to college for soccer, where I experienced the rehab process that my teammates went through. With those two molding experiences, I found physical therapy and fell in love with the profession.
