Why did you become an Occupational Therapist?
I wanted to become an occupational therapist in order to work with children. I have always been drawn to the pediatric population, even when I was in elementary school. The memory that comes to my mind is when I was in the 8th grade and I noticed that a Kindergartner had gotten in trouble and was sitting on the steps. This particular child was always in trouble and I remember thinking that there has to be a better way to help him do better in school, without him constantly getting in trouble. This experience set me on my path to become an occupational therapist. It has pushed me to want to empower children and show them that their strengths can outweigh any disability or barrier in their day to day life.

What are you involved with in your community?
I previously was involved with Optimist International and now enjoy participating in events such as Up with Families and Mississippi Area Bend Trykes.
