Vibrant and growing: Rock Valley sees great opportunity to grow in Grimes

Grimes, Iowa, is a vibrant, welcoming community, the perfect spot to set down roots.

Rock Valley Physical Therapy, forever dedicated to “Making Better Lives,’’ wants to be part of all that is special about the unique and inviting town located in the state’s western corridor.

Founded by Steve Layer in 1984 with a single clinic, today Rock Valley is one of the nation’s largest therapy-led practices. Its Grimes location, set for a March 1 opening, will be its 61st,  spanning eight regions across three states (Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska).

Rock Valley employs nearly 500.

Nestled inside the Northwest corridor of Grimes, Rock Valley’s newest addition is located at 1220 NE Station Xing Suite 105, and will be led by clinic manager Kala Frederiksen. Ever-energetic and forever-upbeat, Frederiksen has paced Rock Valley’s Ankeny, Iowa, location for the past 11 years.

“Kala Frederiksen has done an amazing job as the clinic manager in Ankeny,’’ said Stephen Wieskamp, vice-president/business development for Rock Valley Physical Therapy. “Kala lives in Grimes and is now able to bring her skill set to her community. Her outgoing personality and tremendous ability as a therapist and as a communicator, will allow her to grow this practice and allow us to “Make Better Lives’’ for the Grimes Community. ‘’

Wieskamp said Grimes was the perfect setting  for Rock Valley to become part of the fabric of such a wonderful and fast-growing community.

“Our Des Moines team is constantly looking for new opportunities for growth,’’ Wieskamp said. ”Grimes was identified as a fast-growing community located in between our Waukee and Polk City Clinic. We are excited about our new location. The clinic is located in a building that is dedicated to improving the health and fitness of people of all age groups. It’s such a great community.’’

For Frederiksen the challenge of building something from the ground up is both inviting and exciting.

“I absolutely loved my time in Ankeny.,’’ Frederiksen said. “ I have an amazing team and serve a wonderful community who has shown incredible support toward Rock Valley over the last 11 years. As the Grimes community grows, there is a need for helping make better lives and I am eager and excited to do so while raising my own family in the community.’’
