Sports Injury Prevention & Evaluation

An injury can take you off the field and out of your rhythm. At Rock Valley Physical Therapy, we help athletes recover, rebuild, and stay strong through expert evaluation and personalized sports injury prevention programs.

Our sports PT team works closely with athletic trainers, coaches, and healthcare providers to support safe movement, faster recovery, and long-term performance. We look at how your body moves, identify areas of risk, and create plans to help you stay healthy and compete at your best.

No referral needed. Just reach out to schedule. We’ll walk with you through recovery, training, and beyond.

Injuries Commonly Treated

Athletes face a range of injuries that can interrupt training, limit performance, or lead to long-term problems. At Rock Valley Physical Therapy, our team treats both sudden injuries and conditions that build up over time.

Common injuries include:

  • Sprains
  • Strains
  • Tendonitis
  • Muscle tears
  • Shin splints
  • Stress fractures
  • Knee pain
  • Shoulder injuries
  • Ankle instability
  • Hip and groin pain
  • Post-surgical recovery needs

We also assess movement habits that may lead to recurring pain or increase injury risk. Early treatment helps protect long-term performance and builds a stronger return to sport.

Who Can Benefit From a Sports Injury Assessment?

Athletes of all ages and skill levels can benefit from a professional injury assessment. Some are recovering from injury. Others want to stay ahead of problems that could interfere with training or competition.

Parents, coaches, and athletic programs turn to Rock Valley Physical Therapy to help athletes stay healthy and active. Our sports injury prevention services catch movement issues early and reduce the risk of missed games or setbacks.

If you're dealing with pain, working through recovery, or focused on staying strong through the season, our team is ready to help. No referral is needed, and appointments are available at locations across our regions.

What to Expect During Recovery

Every athlete has different goals, and recovery should reflect that. At Rock Valley Physical Therapy, your plan starts with a full evaluation of your injury, sport-specific movements, and performance needs. Your therapist will build a custom plan focused on healing, restoring function, and preparing your body to return safely.

Sports PT sessions may include hands-on therapy, targeted strength and mobility work, movement retraining, and injury-specific exercises. As recovery progresses, we adjust your plan to match your activity level and sport demands. Return-to-play decisions are based on strength, control, and confidence, not just time on the calendar.

Throughout recovery, we stay in close communication with you and your support team to make sure you're making safe, steady progress back to full participation.
