Meet Cathy Mitchell

PT, DPT

Cathy is from Northeast Iowa and currently resides in the West Des Moines area. Cathy received her undergraduate degree from Wartburg College in Biology and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Des Moines University. Outside of work, Cathy enjoys spending time with family, reading, listening to music, and watching sports. Her favorite teams are the Cubs, Hawkeyes and Packers.

Why did you become a Physical Therapist?
I became a physical therapist as I had a background in athletic training in college and helping athletes return to sports. As time progressed I realized how much I enjoyed it and wanted to continue to help not just athletes but people of all ages and skillsets. I enjoy getting to know my patients and helping them achieve goals.

What are you involved with in your community?

In the community, I’m a member of the West Des Moines Chamber and am getting more involved with sports activities as my kids get older.
