Why did you become an Athletic Trainer?

When I was younger, I participated in youth, high school, and travel sports. I really enjoyed the team environment and began to develop a desire to help athletes participate to their best and fullest capabilities. I was influenced by my own high school athletic trainer and decided to extend my involvement in the athletics atmosphere and pursue athletic training. I love the population of individuals I get to work with and get so much satisfaction from keeping athletes healthy and getting injured athletes back on the playing field. The most rewarding part of my job is watching an athlete’s first game back from injury. I truly enjoy seeing athletes succeed and am more than fulfilled by being the teeny tiniest part of that.
