Julie is originally from Muscatine, IA and currently resides in Davenport, IA. Julie received her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from Central College and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from St. Ambrose University. Outside of work, Julie enjoys sports, biking, hiking, and playing with her kids.
Why did you become a Therapist?
I worked as an Athletic Trainer in the secondary school setting for 5 years before pursuing a PT degree. I worked as an ATC with Rock Valley and had great peers as well as mentors that were Physical Therapists. They encouraged me to become a Physical Therapist so that I could widen my population I could treat as well as diagnoses beyond solely sports injuries. This lead me to working in the acute care setting in Inpatient Rehabilitation before returning to the outpatient physical therapy setting.
