After 26 years Horizon Rehabilitation Centers has turned to Rock Valley Physical Therapy to carry on its legacy.

For 26 years, founders Tammy and Troy Roehrs and their Horizon Rehabilitation Centers teams, have provided tremendous, patient-centered care in Omaha and Blair, Nebraska, respectively.
The same great care people have come to know and trust from Horizon Rehabilitation Centers will remain the same. Only the name will change. On Sept. 1, Horizon Rehabilitation Centers will become Rock Valley Physical Therapy.
The Horizon in Blair is located at 1255 South Blair Street (402) 426-0600. The Omaha clinic is located at 8642 F Street (402) 393-9390.
Featuring 60-plus clinics across Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota, Rock Valley Physical Therapy – founded in Moline, Il. in 1984 – is one of the largest therapist-owned and therapist-led private physical therapy practices in the country.
Horizon joining the Rock Valley family is truly a perfect fit.
“When Tammy and I discussed our succession plan, we wanted an interested party that held similar core values – not only in patient treatment but also in how we wanted our employees to be treated – which Tammy and I tried to follow over the course of 26-plus years of private practice,’’ said Horizon Rehabilitation Centers co-founder Troy Roehrs, PT, MA, MTC, ATC, CSCS, adding that he and co-founder Tammy Roehrs, PT MA, NCS, and the entire Horizon team, will join the Rock Valley family and continue to provide great care.
Being a private, therapist-owned, and therapist-led company with Midwest roots, tremendous values and an entity dedicated to elite patient care, were musts when it came to potential transitional fits for Troy and Tammy Roehrs.
“From our very first meeting, it was clear we shared the same values, the same purpose, and the same commitment to our co-workers and our profession,’’ Rock Valley CEO Mike Horsfield said of Tammy and Troy Roehrs and the great work that had been done by them and the Horizon team for nearly three decades.
“We are so excited for the opportunity to work alongside Tammy, Troy and their team and honored they have entrusted us to carry their legacy forward,’’ Horsfield added. “As they considered what came next for them, including the opportunity to spend more time with their three daughters, they wanted a partner who would care for their team, their patients, and the legacy they built.’’
Owning and running a successful business for 26 years is a chore. In addition to being great therapists, Troy and Tammy Roehr had to deal with a bevy of challenges outside providing exceptional care. After more than a quarter-century of a perfect balancing act of business and bettering the lives they served, the two can focus on continuing their careers as exceptional therapists.
“Tammy and I are looking forward to focusing more on the care we give to our patients and less on running a business,’’ Troy Roehr said. “We're excited to learn from the therapists and leaders of Rock Valley to continually improve upon the services we offer to our patients in both Blair and Omaha.’’
The Roehrs want everyone in Blair and Omaha to know how grateful they are for making the past 26 years possible, and that they have placed their future – and Horizon’s legacy – in great hands.
“We are grateful for the community support given to Horizon Rehabilitation Centers over the past 26 years and are excited about what Rock Valley can add to Blair and the Washington County area in terms of rehab services,’’ Troy Roehrs said. “Expect the same great care and people that have provided you care these past years, just a different name. Rock Valley PT has positioned itself to be a leader in outpatient physical therapy and rehabilitation services. They understand physical therapy better than anybody because they are owned and managed by physical therapists and not by an investment firm.’’
